Hernando County is located 45 minutes north of Tampa and 60 miles west of Orlando on Florida’s Gulf Coast in the region referred to as Florida’s Nature Coast. Adjacent counties include Citrus (north), Pasco (south) and Sumter (east). The Extension office is located in the historic city of Brooksville, which is also the county seat.
