As part of the 2016 Florida Sea Grant Newell Seminar Series, Duane de Freese, executive director of the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program, will be visiting the University of Florida to give a lecture titled, “Restructuring the Indian River Lagoon National Estuary Program.”
The free program will take place Monday, September 12, 2016, from 2-3 p.m. in the J. Wayne Reitz Union, room 3315. The public is invited to attend.
De Freese currently works with government agencies, research organizations, elected officials, industry and the public to restore one of the nation’s most biologically-diverse estuarine ecosystems. In his presentation, he will discuss opportunities and challenges for scientists as they transfer and translate their research for resource managers, policy makers and the public.
