Florida Sea Grant and UF/IFAS Extension announce an upcoming free workshop on April 23 in Sarasota focused on marine fisheries management and regulations.
The workshop, hosted in collaboration with the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission and the Gulf of Mexico Fishery Management Council, will be from 8:30 a.m. to noon at the Sarasota County Extension office, 6700 Clark Road, 34241.
Park rangers, natural resource professionals, law enforcement officers, educators, marina staff and others who regularly interacts with recreational anglers are invited to attend.
Items on the agenda include:
- Florida fisheries management and state rule updates;
- Gulf council and federal rule updates;
- Barotrauma mitigation;
- Offshore and inshore fish species updates; and
- Law enforcement question-and-answer.
