Adaptation Workshop Jan.18-19, Lee and Pinellas counties

Florida Sea Grant, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration and the Lee and Pinellas county extension offices hosted the workshops “Adaptive Planning for Sea-Level Rise: Legal Issues for Local Government” on January 18 and 19 in Lee and Pinellas counties, respectively.

The workshops includes and overview of the science and predictions of sea-level rise for Florida and then delved into a few of the potential tools available to local governments as well as associated legal issues. The workshops offered 7.0 Continuing Legal Education credits for Florida attorneys, 5.0 Certificate Maintenance credits for AICP-member planners, and 6.0 Professional Development Hours for Florida engineers.
