Ocean-going fish do not know where one country ends and another begins. It’s why fisheries managers from Florida and throughout the Caribbean must often collaborate on conservation efforts.
As part of the 2015 Florida Sea Grant Newell Seminar Series, Milton Haughton, executive director of the Caribbean Regional Fisheries Mechanism, will be visiting the University of Florida to give a lecture titled, “Regional Initiatives in Caribbean Fisheries Management.”
The free program will take place Friday, March 13, at 2:45 p.m. in the Fisheries and Aquatic Sciences conference room located at 7922 NW 71st Street in Gainesville, Fla. The public is invited to attend.
Haughon’s areas of expertise include fisheries and aquaculture development and governance, and coastal and marine resource conservation.
