As part of the 2015 Florida Sea Grant Newell Seminar Series, LaToya Myles, senior research scientist at the NOAA Air Resource Laboratory and Diffusion Division, will be visiting the Florida A&M University to give two lectures related to air quality and its impacts on marine ecosystems.
The first lecture titled, “Marine and Coastal Ecosystems: Air Quality Research Opportunities and Collaborations,” will take place Thursday, March 19, at 2:00 p.m. at the Apalachicola National Estuarine Research Reserve, located at 108 Island Drive, Eastpoint, Fla. The second lecture titled, “Impacts of Air Quality on Marine and Coastal Ecosystems,” will take place Friday, March 20, at 11:15 a.m. in room 117 of the Coleman Library Media Center at Florida A&M University School of the Environment.
The lectures are free and open to the public.
Myles holds a Ph.D. in environmental sciences from Florida A&M University. She has been recognized for her academic achievement with various scholarships and fellowships, including the U.S. EPA Science to Achieve Results, or STAR fellowship, and the graduate sciences fellowship of NOAA’s Educational Partnership Program.
