As part of the 2015 Florida Sea Grant Newell Seminar Series, Jay Rooker, Regents professor and McDaniel Chair in the Department of Marine Biology at Texas A&M University, will be visiting the Florida Institute of Technology to give a lecture titled, “Crossing the line: movement and population connectivity of pelagic fishes.”
The lecture will take place Thursday, March 19, at 3:30 p.m. at the Florida Institute of Technology Department of Biological Sciences in room LSB 130. The lecture is free and open to the public.
Rooker’s research focuses on the ecology of estuarine, coastal and pelagic fishes. He and his collaborators investigate the factors affecting post-settlement survival, life history and migration patterns.
