Once a research project is complete, NOAA requires that Sea Grant funded researchers make all data collected or created visible, accessible and understandable to general users. The data must be provided free of charge or at minimal cost and provided within two years of a project’s end date. It is the researchers’ responsibility to identify a suitable repository for their data and to share the web link with the state Sea Grant program.
This page identifies Florida Sea Grant research projects subjected to the data-sharing requirement, which has been in effect since 2016. Projects that were completed prior to 2019, and did not involve the collection of environmental field data, are exempt.
