Florida Sea Grant, UF/IFAS Extension in Charlotte County and the Florida Friendly Landscaping Program announce a new seminar series dealing with water quality in Florida. This programs are intended for anyone interested in Florida’s fresh and saltwater environments.
The series consists of four seminars. Each seminar will take place at the Charlotte County Eastport Environmental Campus, 25550 Harborview Road, Port Charlotte from 2-5 p.m. The dates are:
- Monday, February 13, 2017
- Monday, March 13, 2017
- Monday, April 10, 2017
- Monday, May 8, 2017
The cost to attend is $5 per seminar or $15 for all four seminars.
The first will include a talk titled “Tracing Nutrient and Petroleum Pollutants in the Water,” presented by Florida Sea Grant oil spill specialist Monica Wilson and Brian Lapointe, research professor of marine ecosystem health at Florida Atlantic University.
The remaining seminars will focus on reclaimed water, harmful algae blooms, and restoration/Florida Friendly Landscaping.
